Probably one of the most epic krump battles in history, for many reasons. One, it was the first major battle between two of the heaviest krump crews in existence - Street Kingom, lead by Tight Eyez and a number of veterans, against Impact, lead by veterans including Crush and Solow. Two, it was a battle between a krumper who’s been rising for the past two years, Ruin, and a heavy hitter who’s been known for the solidity of his dance, Knucklehead. Lastly, you can see the animosity between various members of the krump community - whether it’s Street Kingdom silently mean-mugging when Ruin was dancing, Impact being quiet when Knucklehead was dancing, Raskel throwing a bottle at Knucklehead, Ryat taking Knucklehead’s hat off his head and throwing it away, or other members of other crews making fun of Street Kingdom in the background. The atmosphere produced both the best dancing from both krumpers as well as a tension that you could cut with a knife. Do we, as krumpers, live for this animosity? Perhaps. It’s a drama that makes battles that much better, if only more emotional and aggressive.
